Aureo CRAfter
breeding Peruvian Paso Horses since 1971 and producing hundreds of
foals, I have a young stallion that I did not imagine selling until
quite recently. Due to changes in time, circumstances and my health, it
has been necessary for me to at least temporarily suspend my breeding
program and reduce the herd drastically. Aureo CR, born June 3, 2003
(RDFS Sol Peruano x Electra) is certainly among the top few, if not
THE best, Peruvian horse that my breeding program has produced from a
variety of top mares and blood lines. He has the most unique
personality and intelligence of any horse I have encountered. I first
went in the stall with him 17 hours after his birth. He was alert,
strong and active but showed NO fear of humans. This trait has
continued without him showing any aggression. He has a lovely playful
temperament and one does not even need a halter to catch him in a
paddock. When he has been ridden with any regularity, his gait is
impeccable and his presence is that of a young Emperor. He will
be the age of 8 years in June of 2011 and is still showing signs of
increasing depth and maturity in his body. Many miles on some
difficult trails have fascinated him and he loves a challenge. He can
over reach and stride in a four beat gait with no apparent effort and
next to him many good Peruvian horses almost appear to be standing
still. Even at the top of his thread it requires only a light contact
with the bit to maintain a perfect sobreandondo gait. I cannot recall
seeing any horse that can lengthen the over reach, stride and speed so
remarkably and not increase the lateral timing of the gait very
noticeably. He has competed in a number of Peruvian Paso Shows and Open
Gaited Shows with an impressive record. I was surprised to
receive a belated trophy (after they totaled the points for the
year) Aureo CR received the High Point Award for NAPHA in Region One
for 2008. He was only entered in two NAPHA approved shows that year and
I wasn’t even thinking of such an award. Aureo just happened to win
enough classes in those two shows to top the Region Points (much of the
Western United States) to win. I never took him to the NAPHA National
Show in Fort Worth because of the time and distance from my ranch in
Oregon, but I truly believe this stallion would be highly competitive
on a world level. I would be pleased to show him in any Gaited Horse
competition, arena or trail competition arena, if it were not for the
limitations of travel. Sincere horse people can imagine the
feelings of a breeder putting a horse like this on the market, but
reality has a way of intruding and he will move to a new home of a good
environment to the person making the best offer.
I doubt that any person willing to buy such a unique horse, would fail to give him proper care and handling. If someone wanted to buy him and have a Luxury Gelding or gorgeous trail horse you could search for years and not find a better candidate. This is an extraordinary opportunity for a Peruvian Horse connoisseur desiring something truly special, enjoyable and exciting.
