At Curry Ranch, the basic
orientation,
training and conditioning of all the horses is on the trail.
For that purpose, Curry Ranch borders on BLM land on one side, while a
cross country trail intersects on the other side. Curry Ranch is proud
to be breeding strong, performance, gait horses that can perform all
day on the trail with its challenges, and still be competitive at shows.
Especial CR doing what
Peruvian Paso
Horses
were meant to do .....

Look!! Especial
is
"surfing!" This photo shows this magnificent horse
in a four beat gait displacing water, and at such speed! It
is hard to realize the strength necessary for such a feat.
And, that photo of Especial in the river with David Pool standing on
the saddle and waving his hat. How many horses of any breed,
particularly breeding stallions, are that steady in behavior? And this
was not practiced! David just trusted the horse enough to do it
impromptu.

National Trail Days
Celebrations
This event is sponsored
by the
Klamath Rails-to-Trails Group, who want to introduce the public to the
beauty of the OC&E Woods Line State Trail. This trail
is the old rail bed of that Railroad. The tracks have been
removed and it is a dedicated trail for hikers, cyclists and horses
(no motor vehicles allowed). It starts in Klamath
Falls and travels right next to Curry Ranch, continuing to Sprague
River and on to Bly with a "spur" trail veering off at Beatty for Sycan
Marsh. Altogether, the trail is about 100 miles in length.
