Some
of you may have noticed that our website has recently undergone a major

frequently.
There's sure to be something new and interesting for everyone.

We
added a new section to the website called "Testimonials". We've
had so many satisfied clients over the years. It was about time
that we added a section to share their stories. 12-23-09
We
recently had the pleasure of a
visit from a delightful couple from Phoenix Arizona. They made a flight
via San Francisco to Klamath Falls and were overnight guests at the
ranch just prior to our recent cold spell. Although their visit was
limited to 24 hours they made two excellent choices, La Bonita CR and
Perfecta CR. We have another trained black mare available ( Chromatica
CR) and some other superb young mares and geldings in the early process
of training. All of our remaining horses are of top level
quality. They are selling within a short time of completing their
training in the bit and work on the trail. 11-09-2009
We
were pleasantly surprised today to receive an elegant framed trophy as
an award for Aureo CR winning the 2008 High Point Award for Zone
One awarded by the North American Peruvian Horse Association.
11-03-2009
New photos of La Bonita CR and Leon CR were added sale page. 11-01-2009
A photo of Gayleno CR without a saddle was added to his sale page. 10-31-2009
Current photos for Gayleno CR, and Chromatica CR were added to the sales page.

Several
of our horses have sold in recent weeks. The horses fully trained in
the bit are selling rapidly. Click here to see a photo of
Especiala CR leaving for her new home. Ferro CR has also been sold to a nice couple from Redmond, Oregon
We are back on
a full time training regimen and most of them are selling quickly as
soon as they are in the bit and have some trail experience. None of the
remaining horses are "culls", so don't miss the opportunity to buy a
wonderful Peruvian Paso at prices that will not be this low again. I am
only going to keep a few of my sentimental favorites and then only
breed a maximum of 2 or 3 mares per year. At present we still have an
excellent
inventory of four to seven year old mares, colts and geldings but this
opportunity to purchase will pass soon.
The
horses with substantial training are selling quickly at basement
prices. There is still an excellent selection of 18 to 20 horses. I
will not start breeding again until these are sold. With prices so low
this is the time to buy while there is still a good selection of sound,
top quality Peruvians. Very few Peruvian foals are being produced now
because the horse market has dropped with the economy. The horses I am
currently selling were born about 5 years ago when prices were higher.
When they are sold the inventory of young and mature horses will be
very low and prices will increase
substantially. Potential buyers should act now while there is still a
good selection of gender, color and stage of training in horses of this
quality at the age of 4 years and older.

We
expect to have the rest updated within the next couple of weeks.

A
new FAQ about the future of the Curry Ranch has been added to the FAQ
page.
We plan to arrive in Albany, Oregon on June 12
and will be staying at the Comfort Suites. Phone calls to my home
number (541) 545 6488
should be forwarded to my cell phone.
My friend, Jeff Hahne and his 12 year old daughter, Emily will
accompany us and Emily will ride an Especial CR daughter ( Christina
CR) in Junior and Novice Classes. Kathryn Hodges, her husband Gil and
daughter Madeleine, will meet us there. Madeleine will be riding a
young mare, Perfecta CR (Bonito CR x La Valentina ) in the same
classes.
My friend and trainer, Jaime Aguierre, will be sleeping on the show grounds to
keep a close watch on the horses.
We plan to
participate
with my 6 year of stallion, Aureo CR ( Reserve Champion of this show
2008) and the two mares
who
will be experiencing their first show. It will be Emily’s
first show and Madeleine’s second show.
Results of horse shows
are never predictable but the process is always interesting. A number of our
friends and clients are planning to attend
and we anticipate living up to the “
having fun” theme of this show. As folks used to say in my childhood, “we’ll
see you there if the Lord is willing and the creeks don’t
rise”.

A FAQ (Frequently Asked
Questions) page has been added. The first FAQ's will be
posted shortly.
Within a few days it
will begin to address
many of the questions concerning the breed and the manner in which we
raise and train our horses. Questions from visitors to this source will
receive a courteous response. I may not be able to publish every
inquiry and make no pretense of being an “expert” in any phase of
equine experience. My response will be based on 38 years of personal
experience and opinions regarding the Peruvian Paso Horse. Specific
references of published research will be noted. This forum could also
serve as a “chatroom” regarding the Peruvian Paso Horse. If you decide
to submit a question or response, please designate if you wish to be
anonymous.
Some new photo's were
added to the photo gallery
page today as well.

We've
taken some video's of Primero CR, Domino CR, Especiala CR, and La Mejor
CR. You can see them on the sales page for each horse.

A
12 year old girl who is a novice rider came to visit the ranch a few
days ago. She had a lovely ride on Primero CR. He's
actually on our sales list right now. More information about
Primero and other fine horses that are currently available can be found
on the Sales Page.
My
friend and
horse trainer took two
Curry Ranch horses to the Oregon State Fair and competed in many of the
Peruvian Paso Classes. We planned to take four horses, but I was
injured in a mishap 3 days before the show. My shoulder and ribs were
too sore to make the trip. Jaime had the expert assistance of Kathryn
Zahlis Hodges and her stepdaughter Madeleine Hodges, who drove down
from Snohomish, WA. Aureo CR was Best Gaited Stallion and won
the class of Best Breeding Stallion. La Valentina won 3 Blue Ribbons in
large competitive classes. Details and photos are posted on ourSHOW
PAGE.
We competed in
the All
Gaited Breed
Show, June 13, 14 & 15 at the Linn County Fairgrounds and Expo
Center in Albany, OR and have recently returned from the Northwest
Regional Peruvian Paso Championship Show in Monroe, WA and experienced
many favorable results on July 25-27. Please
click on Shows 2008
for photos and awards.
Our last show of
2008 was a
great
success and enthusiastically received by the audiences and the show
organizers. A direct quote from the Show Manager is “An
exciting show – increased number of exhibitors in breeds
overall. Peruvian Pasos had the largest classes and the most
spectators. We are looking forward to expanding the division in 2009
for even more value and exciting events for exhibitors and spectators."
Some of our participation is available by clicking on ourShow
Page, 2008.
